Mesmerizing words! Reminded me of the workplace I was in where there was only one computer to share among about 15 of us (2 women, the rest men) and every morning when I went to check the markets which I needed to do for my actual job, it would have lots of windows open to porn, and all the bookmarks were porn and the whole thing was clogged up from porn. So I deleted all the bookmarks, the search history, many images, and all the open windows, (hundreds) and suddenly the thing wasn't slow any more. Told my boss I was sick of porn clogging it up so if anyone is mad, it was me who did it. He laughed because he could see I wasn't offended that they were watching it; I was just mad they were making it harder for me to do my job.

I see the same surface-level distractions and empty routines and it can sadden and frustrate me. I do my best to live with meaning, purpose, and real connection, but it can feel lonely sometimes in a world so focused on appearances and quick fixes. Thank you for putting these thoughts out there. It helps to know others are searching for something deeper, even when it feels like most of the world is content to skim the surface.
